I am also a Certified Geek Therapist and problematic gaming specialist (by Geek Therapeutic) who is culturally competent in geek culture. My academic background is as follows, M. My clients have experience playing video games, tabletop role-playing games, board games/ Trading Card Games, watching movies or shows of their interests and discussing these special interests (mechanics in games, or narrative in the stories that they are interested in) in sessions that are in relation to their physical/ real world presenting issues.
